For over ninety years, First Bank has played an important role in the life of the communities we serve. Since we opened our doors as The Farmers State Bank back in 1908, we have been interested not only in our customers and the business of banking, but in serving the community as well. We are proud to be located in the heart of Kansas and we are committed to Rice County. Come visit any of our three locations - our main bank in Sterling, and our branch banks in Lyons and Chase.
Sterling
Sterling, originally called Peace, lives up to its early name.
The community of approximately 2,500 is home to Sterling College, a four-year Christian institution, and the Sterling High School Black Bears. A Main Street city since 1997, Sterling is actively working to remain vital and progressive. First Bank is located in the downtown business district at 128 S. Broadway.

Lyons
Lyons is the County seat of Rice County and the home of the Lyons High School Lions. The First Bank branch in Lyons is located at 201 East Avenue South on the town's charming square whose focal point is the
lovely brick courthouse. Just to the south of our bank is Coronado Quivera Museum, a must-see attraction that traces the colorful history of Rice County.
Chase
The small community of Chase is located eight miles west of Lyons on Highway 56. The town's major industry is the Cal-Maine Foods egg processing plant, one of the largest in the world. The First Bank branch of Chase is located at 509 Main St.
